Irish Bread

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 to 4 tablespoons caraway seed
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Melt butter in a medium-size cast iron pan, set aside.

Mix all dry ingredients together and make a well. Pour eggs, butter and buttermilk into center of well. Mix with fork. Pour into cast iron pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.

Remove bread from oven and rub top with butter.
